I know a few of you are travelling tomorrow to get to this. Just to confirm we are meeting at surprise view car park, near Hathersage. I’m aiming to get there about 9am.

There isn’t a cafe or anything at the car park but Hathersage village is very close.

Looking forward to it!

Okay. Did you want me to start the run later then? What time could you both start?

Just to confirm, we will now begin the run on Saturday at 11am, from Surprise View Car Park.

Sunday remains as per the plan.

Just got back. Had some great drives. Apart from a few sat nav glitches, we had good runs both days. Highlights for me were:

High peak views yesterday as we climbed up from Hartington.

Getting stopped in a village by a guy in a Cupra who I’d been playing cat and mouse with who told me how well the car went.

Snake Pass this morning, on the way down.

Great company all weekend, which helped with a very delayed curry last night!

Thanks to everyone who came. Perhaps it will become a calendar regular?

Great trip!! Really enjoyed the drive today! So nice to get out and use the car properly for the first time this year really! Proved itself as a practical classic again collecting another eBay mountain of things I don't need!! (16hp Briggs and Stratton engine, 5-speed lawnmower transaxle, 2 massive lawnmower tyres and a 19" winter tyre for brothers car! All in the boot with space to spare!!)

Thanks again Ed and if you don't mind putting a massive amount of effort into organising these trips again then I would gladly join you on them if I can!

Personally I found the history of BCR overwhelming and with so much aviation history, that pips the Peaks but the views today around the Peaks were superb today!

Sadly Pete I didnt take a single picture!!

Huge thanks again to Ed for making this happen.
The views were phenomenal, the driving was fun, the stops were interesting (the cave was beautiful and fascinating). Curry night always a hit.
As usual, Ed had planned the route meticulously and secured us parking, discounts on entrance to the cavern, researched the best Indian restaurant to visit etc!
I have some photos but they’re not good quality I’m afraid.
