Our two day tour of the beautiful Peak District will take place on 17th and 18th of August.

Saturday

We will meet at Surprise View car park near Hathersage. This is on the Eastern edge of the Peaks about 20 minutes from Sheffield.

From there we will take a twisty, fun drive towards Cromford Mills. A UNESCO world heritage site, the mill is the world's first water powered cotton mill. Entry is £6 or an audio tour and entry is £10.

We will then drive to the beautiful spa town of Buxton parking up and visiting the Poole's Cavern Showcave, if you wish. Prices are £10.50 and the guided tour lasts about an hour.

On Saturday evening we will meet up for a curry in Buxton, for those who are interested.

Sunday

We will start in Buxton and make our way north to the famous Snake Pass and looping back round to the east. We will stop to refresh along the route and to allow our cars a break!

The final destination for the day will be the Crich Tramway museum. If you have your ticket for the Cromford mill from the day before,, entry is discounted to £14.50.

Obviously all museums are optional, if you would prefer just to do the routes and I have tried to make the locations of these close to other places of interest, should you not want to join the tours.

Please can you confirm your interest by email to events@porsche924.co.uk so I can then send you route instructions. I have planned this using Google Maps, but Jason has kindly said he can help put this into other Sat-Nav formats for me.

I plan to stay overnight at the Premier Inn in Buxton. It is a good central location, easy to get to and, for the Peaks, cheap in August.

Lee went today with a mini owners group - he really enjoyed it and his photos are stunning. We'd definitely be up for it.

Might be able to talk the OH into letting me come over in Ruby for this! Need to see how high the ferry prices are!

Looks like it's on for me. I'll need to travel up and stay overnight so suggestions/recommendations welcome. Also up for a curry night if there's going to be one.

Would be definitely up for this as long as work commitments don't get in the way. Also be looking to book hotel & curry idea sounds good to me.

We would probably stay over too - bearing in mind there are bike rides organised for the next day, we'll probably stay at the top or bottom of the Peak District. Depends where we may start and finish. Always up for a curry, may have to venture out of the Peaks for that :food:
