Meet Colin who was potentially going to Omega to buy some. Minimum 3 sets required for them to commission a run https://porsche924.co.uk/forum/viewtopi ... ga#p359612 although he was looking to buy some for his CGT.

If I were both of you, I’d buy a set with circa 8 or 8.2:1 CR. Although S1 was 7.5:1 it will be just fine using a CR closer to the S2’s 8.5:1

Often get requests for turbo pistons across the various Facebook groups out there. If your brave do 5 sets and move the others on. Porsche have pistons for around £500 a piston(I may be wrong at that price and I don't know if they still have availability). Richard has had n/a oversize pistons made by omega and I think he wants £180 per piston.

Sold by Kingzetts but the pricing is quite competitive compared to alternatives

Omega pistons not answering the phone when I’ve tried a few times this week. Perhaps closed or reduced operations. Did get a quote from Mittelmotor before, pricey for a single set of course. I’ll see if they are still open.

Try sending Alex an email to info@omegapistons.com, he always responded quickly to my emails and I would expect he will be answering queries now. :hope:

How much each? Used to be 12 or 3 sets.

I think doing a run with 8.2:1 CR would be best to suit S1, S2 and CGT owners in one swoop.

My thinking
S1 was 7.5:1 CR because turbo was in its infancy and lower compression was safe
S2 went to 8.5:1 due to having some protection with DITC and this CR also gives better throttle response off boost

Remember, head skimming will increase CR. So S1’s with a head skim(s) may be closer to 8.0:1 and S2/CGT’s may be over well over 8.5. For S1’s the increased CR would be helpful not detrimental. Better throttle response for better drive-ability regardless of the turbo spec. Just need to be mindful with the ignition advance. Also 8.2:1 gives head room for skims and some added boost.

Doing this gives best chance of selling the pistons to as many people as possible. Depending on price, I may be up for a set. So we now have a potential 3 person group buy. Just need one other as long as we are all happy with a compromise on CR.
