The new owner is on Facebook enquiring about the availability of 86.95mm pistons, and also about common engine swaps

Send him a link to the piston discussion on here. All info is there. Plus a few other threads in the last months.

If he’s racing it he does not want to buy new cast pistons from Porsche. Unless he enjoys rebuilding engines with holed pistons

The forged series 1 piston thread?

I assume he won't be racing it as he's looking at possible engine swaps

Hi, new owner here. Thank you for the help thus far, having looked at that piston thread, i still cant see any mention of the piston size in my 924 turbo, which is 86.95. My membership doesn't allow me to view all threads though.

It seems this piston problem is the major drawback of getting the motor up and running so far. Any further help would be very much appreciated. This 924 is surprisingly very, very clean underneath! So hopefully will be restoring it back to somewhat original, its racing days are over.

Luke

Welcome Luke.
There are knowlegable turbo folk on here (not me) that will be able to help you.
It will be good to see it restored in your ownership
