Its with an extremely heavy heart, but i have decided to sell my Guards Red 1981 2.0 N/A Lux. The car is mint inside and out with 44000 on the clock, but the clocks were changed at 25000 at Gordon Ramsey Porsche, so the car has covered 69000 genuine miles. I have tons of documents to verify the millage and when you see the condition on the interior, you will clearly see that its correct. I purchased the car about 30 months ago from John Hunter in Scotland. He was seriously involved with the club and a multi Porsche owner, but he was selling everything. The car has appeared in the club magazine during his ownership plus it was shown at Manchester classic car show during mine. Johns main concern for the car during his ownership was the mechanics of the car. His local garage maintained and improved the car by modifying the gear shift, rebuilding brakes and updating suspension parts on the car. The paintwork was okay but tatty. The freshly powder coated gold wheels with new Bridgestone tyres were also not to my liking but shown how John had loved and cared the mechanical side of the vehicle. When i took ownership from John my first job was the paintwork. I had the car painted (apart from the bonnet) by a friend of a friend. He did a fantastic job and the car looks wonderful now in its Guards red colour. The pasha interior is mint, I remember Kozzy commenting on how its the best condition interior he has every seen. There is a few obligatory cracks on the dashboard but nothing too wild, very minor. The second upgrade was a set of five mint spider web wheels. The turbo spats were already fitted and i knew it was a factory package back in the day with the wheels, so i sourced the best wheels i could and fitted. They do look good on the car, but i have the gold wheels if the owner fancies a change. The car maintenance i have carried out during my ownership, but i should have changed the brake fluid and coolant last October but i have not had the time to change end the new fluids have sat in my garage. I carried out a full service around 18 months ago but i have only cover a 1000 miles or so since then. Its due a service this October but the plugs and fuel filter should be okay, just needs an oil change. I will list below the details of my 924, if anyone is interested then they can contact me through this forum, many thanks for reading.

The car starts on the first key turn, even after sitting for long periods of time. It runs extremely well, no hot or cold start problems. There is no signs of rust and the car drives like a new vehicle and not something thats nearly 40 years old. When it turns 40 next year the car will be tax and MOT exempt.

Nice car, just to clarify one misconception, the car won't be tax free until 1st of January 2022, ie 1st of the year following it's 40th anniversary.

I stand corrected, thanks for clearing that up.

Sorry to hear you're selling but hope you are enjoying the 997.

It's a lovely car and the gold pasha an added bonus. Someone will get an excellent car for the price; I wouldn't let it go for much less.

I am not using it enough and it's time for someone else to have the pleasure. I will still be around and I will see you at Donington if you are going? I am loving the 997 but it's a tad more expensive to run and maintain than my 924.

This looks like a lovely, honest example. It's a bit soon for me to be seriously talking about buying one of these fine machines, but something like this car would tick nearly all the boxes. Also you're a bit too far from me in Cambs really. Give me a shout if you'll be taking it to any meets or anything a bit further south / east!

Hope you get a sale and what you're looking for it. But in the unlikely event it's still tucked up at your place in a couple of months time I would be interested to come and have a look.

Hi everyone, I have taken a deposit on my car today. Thanks to anyone that showed any interest. If anything happens with the sale I will let all know.

Can I just back up everything Stephen has said about the car. It was a good car when I sold it, and under Stephen's care since it is an even better car now. I hope that whoever buys it gets as much fun out of it as we both did.

Nice to hear from you John ,I hope the Benz is living up to expectations. Thanks for the photo to remind me to loose the two stone I have increased in weight in the last couple of years.
