Thanks for the Schnorr washer suggestion. I’ve managed to order 200 of them (genuine Schnorr - not a cheap copy) for a reasonable price so I will include a set of 24 of these with each kit. I’ve also adjusted the bolt length to accommodate for the slight extra thickness. 200 bolts are on order and clips are being made too! The washers will add a small delay but only a day or 2. I think I can absorb the cost into the original £20 as I added a contingency for unforeseen costs of materials. Once everything is here I’ll take a photo of the kit so buyers know what they’re getting and then I’ll ask for PayPal to confirm orders. In the interests of Covid I’ll ask for prompt payment so I can ship in 1 large batch rather than daily trips to the parcel drop or post office as orders trickle in! The first run will be limited to 8 sets.

Thanks again for the suggestion - we now have a belt, braces and overalls approach to these bolts!!

No problem Phil. I think I now have the first 8 accounted for (200 is a convenient number to order and with 24/car works neatly!) But if anyone else wants a set, please speak up here and I’ll order another batch of 200. Any extras I’ll put on eBay for the 944 968 and any none forum frequenting 924 owners! Maybe a mention could go in the newsletter at some point if that’s allowed?

Will do. I’ll get a picture of the kit parts and then use that together with a few words. Bolts and shipping boxes have arrived today. Washers awaited and then we’re ready!

Progress update:

The first batch of kits which include bolts, washers, clips, instructions and shipping boxes are now ready.

Can those who’ve expressed an interest please send me a PayPal friends and family transfer of £20 to JRBlackwell@doctors.org.uk

PLEASE INCLUDE A MESSAGE WITH YOUR ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER IN THE PAYPAL NOTES SECTION!

Previously with group buys I’ve had separate Pm’s with addresses, missing phone numbers etc etc. Just a couple of extra minutes your end ensuring all the info is in the PayPal message saves me 15 minutes hunting down info and multiplied by several buyers it’s soon adds up! Thanks for your help with this.

Below is a photo of the kit. It includes: 25 bolts (1 spare). 25 Schnorr washers (1 spare). Colour printed instructions. 3 types of clips. 12 of each - 36 in total (only 3 clips are shown in the photo for clarity). You should have 24 spare clips as you select the clip type you need and will use a selection of each of the 3 types - this is explained in the instructions with colour diagrams. The remaining random assortment of 24 spares can be kept for future use or incase of breakage during removal / refitting if you re-torque the bolts at a later date (particularly recommended if new CV boots are fitted).

Any questions please ask.
For anyone else wanting to place an order please respond here and you’re welcome to send the money but I’ll prioritise dispatch for the names above so it’s fair.

Many thanks.
John.
